Pinterest is a fabulous tool to utilize during your wedding planning process. So fabulous, in fact, that we here at Limelight Entertainment and Photography felt compelled to reinvent and restart our very own Pinterest. Follow us on Pinterest for the latest and greatest wedding photos, updated frequently.
After you’ve done that, take a look at these cool tips for utilizing Pinterest during your wedding planning process:
Make sure you’re keeping up on all of your “Pinteresting” while planning your wedding and browsing Pinterest. Inspiration can come from nearly any source and is known to strike at the most random of times. Continue looking at boards themed to your other interests and make sure you keep an open mind.
However, if you’ve got a theme and colors picked out for your special day, stay in that vein because as soon as you start looking at completely different themes and colors and what-have-you, you’ll probably start to get second thoughts, which does nothing to help you plan your wedding on Pinterest. Now, that’s not to say that you cant add influences from a few different themes into your wedding but remember the saying “the grass is always greener on the other side.” You’ll naturally feel like you’re missing out on hundreds of other ideas because there ARE hundreds of other ideas.
A great tip for keeping your Pinterest in check, organized and “on theme,” is to create a separate, private board that only has items that you’re deeply in love with. These will be pieces that you will almost certainly have at your wedding and therefore, should be kept a surprise from those that follow you. It’s also a good way to say to yourself, “I really enjoy this color scheme but not so much as to actually put it in my wedding.” Although that particular pin may not make it into your wedding it may lead you to other discoveries that do indeed make the cut. In essence, have a “wedding” board and an “inspiration” board to keep yourself organized.
Another key to finding great inspiration is to look in the right places, be sure to follow a variety of vendors and wedding boards once you decide to glean inspiration from Pinterest. On top of our very own Pinterest, a few other good boards are put on by The Knot and Style Me Pretty.
Now that you’ve got a few good pointers tucked in your back pocket, head over to Pinterest and start your inspiration journey, you won’t regret it!
