Friday Fun: Weddings in Entertainment

Another week has come and gone and we had another awesome week at Limelight Entertainment and Photography. Enough to go back-to-back with our "Friday Fun" blog posts. Today we decided to take a look at some of the most memorable weddings in entertainment. So, without further adieu...

Movies

(Descriptions provided by IMDB)

Wedding Crashers (2005) - "John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey, a pair of committed womanizers who sneak into weddings to take advantage of the romantic tinge in the air, find themselves at odds with one another when John meets and falls for Claire Cleary."

My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) - "A young Greek woman falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity."

My Best Friend's Wedding (1998) - "When a woman's long-time friend reveals he's engaged, she realizes she loves him herself and sets out to get him, with only days before the wedding."

Bridesmaids (2011) - "Competition between the maid of honor and a bridesmaid, over who is the bride's best friend, threatens to upend the life of an out-of-work pastry chef."

Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) - "Over the course of five social occasions, a committed bachelor must consider the notion that he may have discovered love."

Music

"Can't Help Falling in Love" - Elvis Presley

"Amazed" - Lonestar

"A Thousand Years" - Christina Perri

"As" - Stevie Wonder

"Fly Me to the Moon" - Frank Sinatra

"Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" - Frankie Valli

"Just the Way You Are" - Billy Joel

"We've Only Just Begun" - The Carpenters

"Unforgettable" - Nat King Cole

"Your Song" - Elton John

Television

Luke and Laura, General Hospital - My mother reads this blog and I would not hear the end of it if I didn't place this particular wedding at the top of the lists (despite it not being a ranking), perhaps you've got a soap opera watcher in your life that feels the same way.

Jim and Pam, The Office - Now, this one is a personal favorite. Taking place in Niagra Falls, The Office cast copies a viral wedding video and dances down the aisle in one of TV's most beloved couple's wedding.

Jesse and Rebecca, Full House - Showing my age, or lack there of, I didn't see this one live but I can only imagine that most folks said "about time" when this wedding happened. John Stamos *ladies swoon* and Lori Laughlin were a powerhouse in terms of 90's TV couples.

Hank and Sarah, Parenthood - "Hank and Sarah’s wedding wasn’t just a beautiful expression of commitment between two souls who had to go through difficulties and failed marriages and hurdles in order to find their way to each other; it was also an example of how fractured families can sometimes be, but how weddings often repair those fissures for the better." -- Screen Rant

Cory and Topanga, Boy Meets World - Again, this one was a long time coming. Young love that eventually blossoms into an incredible marriage? Count me in. There is also a pretty great piece of "bromance" that occurs during this wedding.
